There are 3 official game modes in Teeworlds: Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, and Capture The Flag.

There are also many unofficial game modes via server mods such as race mode and Instagib

Deathmatch Edit

The goal of a deathmatch game is to kill as many other players as possible until a certain condition or limit is reached, commonly being a kill limit or time limit. One kill(frag) is worth one point. Once one of these conditions is met, the match is over, and the winner is whoever has accumulated the most frags.

Team Deathmatch Edit

The goal of a Team Deathmatch game (TDM) is the same as in Deathmatch but in this mode players are arranged into two teams: red and blue. Each team has its own score which is sum of points scored by players in the same team. Same as in Deathmatch when time limit runs out or when the frag limit is reached the game ends and team with the most points wins.

Capture The Flag Edit

Holding the flag

Capture the flag (CTF) is a game mode where two teams, each having a flag, are trying to capture the other team's flag, located at the team's "base", and bring it safely back to their own flag. Each attempt to capture a flag adds 1 point to the player's score and 1 point to the team score. Capturing the flag adds 100 points to the team score. There is usually a score limit or a time limit in a CTF game.

Instagib Edit

Instagib (iCTF, iDM, iTDM, iFreeze etc.) is a mod in Teeworlds in which you may only use the laser, and the laser instantly kills when it hits someone. The objective is the same as DM, TDM, and CTF. This is one of the most popular mods.

Race Edit

Race (RACE) speaks for itself: you race through a map, attempting to get the best time. There are many Race maps, all of which provide different challenges and objectives. Some are short, some are incredibly long; but the objective stays the same.
